The Description

How do we know anything about Earth's earliest history when nobody was around to take notes? This quick movement-based review gives students repeated chances to talk through the evidence in ancient Earth materials and other solar-system objects.

Early Earth evidence cards can be used in partner Quiz Quiz Switch Switch, student-paced Quiz & Cruise, or a teacher-led Carousel.

What Students Will Do

• Quiz a partner using cards about early Earth and planetary evidence

• explain and check responses

• trade cards and switch partners

• optionally use cards as stations or flashcards.

Why This Resource Is Different

There is no photograph of Earth forming. Students have to work with the evidence we actually have: rocks, meteorites, other planetary surfaces, and age information. I want them asking what each clue can support rather than reciting a tidy origin story.

The same question cards can be used with changing partners, individual flashcards, or guided stations. Every pass is another chance to explain how the inference follows from the evidence.
