The Description
The carbon cycle is full of arrows.
But an arrow only helps if students can explain where the carbon is going and how it gets there. This HS-ESS2-6 movement-based review gets students talking through reservoirs, transfers, and Earth-system connections.
Use the carbon-reservoir questions with Quiz Quiz Switch Switch partners, Quiz & Cruise stations, or a structured Carousel.
What Students Will Do
Question partners about carbon reservoirs and pathways
connect the atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, and biosphere
explain answers aloud
rotate cards or use the deck in stations.
Why This Resource Is Different
The carbon cycle has enough arrows to decorate an entire classroom. I want to know whether students can explain what moves along even one of them.
These cards make students name the reservoir, the carbon transfer, and the process responsible, then say the explanation aloud to a partner. When the same reasoning comes around again in a new question, it's easier to hear whether the science is sticking or the vocabulary is simply familiar.
