The Description
Students can chant “latitude first, longitude second” all day long—and still freeze when they see a coordinate on an actual map. This U.S. map Bingo game gets them locating places, checking coordinates, and practicing the skill often enough that it starts to stick. Because sometimes a little Bingo is exactly what map skills need.
What Students Will Do
Students interpret latitude and longitude clues, locate places on a United States map, identify the corresponding state on a printable Bingo board, and revisit answers in a whole-class review game.
Why This Resource Is Different
This isn't simply a race to shout BINGO. Each clue gives students another opportunity to apply coordinates to a real map. As they play, you can spot the students who know the vocabulary but still need practice using it.
