The Description
Latitude and longitude practice can feel like endless plotting—until students have a reason to locate a place quickly and carefully. This USA CarouselingO game takes the familiar idea of bingo and turns it into a classroom movement challenge built around geographic coordinates and state locations.
Students move between clue cards, use the map and coordinates to identify U.S. states, and match their discoveries to varied bingo boards. It gives them repeated, purposeful practice reading coordinates without another page of isolated exercises.
What Students Will Do
Move among classroom clue stations and interpret latitude–longitude information.
Find matching U.S. states on a reference map and mark their unique game boards.
Check their reasoning as they work toward a complete bingo pattern.
Practice map literacy through repeated coordinate-based decisions.
Why This Resource Is Different
I built CarouselingO because whole-class bingo doesn't give everyone the same chance to think. One student solves the clue instantly; another needs a moment to work out the coordinates. Here, 24 clue cards are placed around the room, and students move at their own pace to find the state and record the card number on their board.
That number is the clever part: when students call bingo, I can check both the answer and the evidence for how they got it. It makes instant feedback and targeted help possible without stopping the game for the whole class. Students are practicing map skills—not just racing to cross out squares.
