The Description
Science fiction makes some very improbable technology look completely believable. That's the fun of it—and an excellent reason to ask whether the science holds up.
This reusable movie reflection sheet helps students sort plausible science from invented technology, connect scenes to class, and ask questions about accuracy, ethics, and real-world applications. It isn't tied to one movie, so it also makes a practical low-prep option when the schedule goes sideways.
What Students Will Do
Identify scientific concepts in scenes; distinguish plausible from fictional technology; notice evidence and teamwork; ask questions about science in the story.
Why This Resource Is Different
Science-fiction technology is supposed to make us say, 'Whoa.' The next question should be, 'But could that actually work?'
I don't want movie day reduced to a vote on the coolest gadget. Students use familiar scientific ideas to explain which scenes seem plausible, what the movie assumes, and which questions real scientists would still need to answer. The sheet stays useful even when you change the film.
What's Included?
