The Description

The first day back from break can feel like starting school all over again. Welcome Back A–Z helps students reflect on their time away and reconnect with classmates using a simple alphabet-based sharing routine.

With separate fall, winter, and spring break editions, you can bring back the same familiar structure throughout the year without repeating the same conversation.

What Students Will Do

• Use A–Z prompts to recall and record moments from their break.

• Share selected reflections with classmates in a guided conversation.

• Listen for experiences and connections across the classroom.

Why This Resource Is Different

The first day back from break can feel like you need to rebuild the room's rhythm from scratch. Asking every student to recount their entire vacation isn't always the best way to do that. The A–Z structure makes reflection playful and gives students choices about what to share.
